80% registered for the advocacy accelerator: enrollment open until Nov 10th

The deadline for participants to join the project «Z.N.A.M.I.» (Strengthening. Educating. Advocating. Mentoring. Inclusively), organized by the public association «The League of the Strong» with the support of UN Women and the UN Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF), has been extended until November 10. This was announced by Denis Savchenko, the project manager of the «The League of the Strong».

«Already 80% of the spots in the advocacy campaigns accelerator are taken. Currently, 83 participants have registered for the training, and 48 out of 60 organizations have signed up for the accelerator with the opportunity to receive up to 400,000 UAH for their own campaign,» said Denis Savchenko.

The training will be conducted online and is scheduled to begin on November 13, 2023. The project is implemented in two directions: Advocacy School and Advocacy Project Accelerator.

  • Advocacy School. Women who aspire to promote and implement changes and influence decision-making processes at the local level are invited to apply.   • Advocacy Projects Accelerator. The accelerator is open to representatives of public or charitable organizations. Participants will have the opportunity to receive advocacy training and, in the second stage of the project, compete for a grant of up to 400,000 UAH to implement an advocacy campaign. The requirements listed below apply to participating organizations:

  1. A public or charitable organization that is officially registered and has been operating for at least 1 year can be admitted. Organizations with less experience may also be accepted for advocacy training.
  2. The organization should have a leader, project/advocacy manager, and accountant. Other participants can develop these roles during the mentoring program.
  3. Non-profit status.
  4. Possession or ability to open a bank account and receive and use funds.
  5. The organization must include at least three women with experience in internal displacement and/or disability in the roles of employees, members, or in other capacities.
  6. The organization should have demonstrated experience in implementing projects or activities that aim to assist persons with disabilities and/or internally displaced persons.
  7. The organization is currently implementing or planning to implement an advocacy campaign in the field of protecting the rights of persons with disabilities and/or internally displaced persons.
  8. The organization and its representatives are eager to actively participate in training, develop the advocacy campaign, and implement it within 18 months of being included in the project.

Participation in this project is provided on a competitive basis. In total, 180 women with disabilities will undergo advocacy training provided by the «The League of the Strong». The project organizers reserve the right to refuse participation to organizations without providing reasons.

The project is implemented with technical support from UN Women and funded by the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) of the United Nations. WPHF is a flexible and fast funding instrument that supports quality initiatives aimed at enhancing the capacity of local women in conflict prevention, crisis response, emergency situations, and utilizing key opportunities for peacebuilding. It actively supports over 500 local women’s organizations in 28 countries worldwide.
