The public association “The League of the Strong” implements a series of events and initiatives to support inclusive reconstruction in Ukraine and strengthen the capacity of state bodies and civil society organizations in this process. The activities are carried out within the program “INKuLtur – for inclusion and participation in cultural life”, which is implemented by the organization “Dialogue for Understanding e.V.” in collaboration with the countries of the Eastern Partnership with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.
As part of the collaboration, the association organized a public event “Uniting for inclusive reconstruction of Ukraine” in June 2023. This event provided a platform for discussing issues related to inclusive reconstruction in Ukraine. The event featured experts in inclusivity and accessibility, representatives from public and charitable organizations, local government bodies, international organizations, educational institutions, and institutions that provide rehabilitation and other services for people with disabilities.
As part of another stage of cooperation between “The League of the Strong” and “Dialogue for Understanding e.V.” from October to December 2023, training will be provided on monitoring the accessibility of infrastructure facilities for representatives of united territorial communities (UTCs). Additionally, joint monitoring will be conducted by representatives of UTCs and public experts. To accomplish these tasks, a two-day training session will be held, and 5 monitoring visits will be carried out.
Our cooperation is taking place in three main directions:
Strengthening community organizations to assist people with disabilities who have been affected by the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Advocating for the interests of people with disabilities and monitoring the observance of their rights during their residence.
Increasing the organizational capacity of community members and “The League of the Strong” as an alliance for sustainable development.
