The League of the Strong public union is launching an additional grant competition within the Z.N.A.M.I. project. The goal of the project is to strengthen the voice of women with experience of displacement and disability in decision-making processes. It aims to support women in implementing advocacy campaigns. This was reported by Iryna Ageieva, project manager of The League of the Strong public union.
“We want the voice of women with displacement experience and disabilities to be heard at different levels. This contest is another step towards creating a more inclusive and equal society. The advocacy campaigns that will be created and implemented as part of the grant support will help women to be included in the processes of change that society needs,” said Iryna Ageieva, project manager of The League of the Strong NGO.
Funds under the grant competition are available to organizations that want to implement advocacy campaigns throughout Ukraine, except for the temporarily occupied territories.

We remind you that in September 2023, the League of the Strong public union launched the first set of advocacy training for women with disabilities as part of the Z.N.A.M.I. project. Participants were taught to create and implement advocacy plans and develop advocacy campaigns. The online course was attended by 186 participants from 100 non-governmental organizations. Also, the competition committee of the Z.N.A.M.I. Advocacy Project Accelerator selected 17 organizations that will receive more than UAH 5 million to implement advocacy campaigns.
The Z.N.A.M.I. project is implemented with the technical support of UN Women Ukraine and funded by the UN Women’s Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF), a flexible and responsive funding instrument that supports quality interventions to increase the capacity of local women to prevent conflict, respond to crises and emergencies, and seize key peacebuilding opportunities.
WPHF provides emergency funding to local women’s civil society organizations (CSOs) in Ukraine. With technical support from UN Women, WPHF funds women’s organizations and women-led CSOs to support their critical frontline work, provide urgent humanitarian assistance to refugee women and internally displaced persons (IDPs), and protect women and girls from sexual and gender-based violence.
