“The League of the Strong” public union is launching a new project aimed at improving the living conditions of people with disabilities and their families affected by the war in Ukraine. This was announced by Daria Sydorenko, executive director of “The League of the Strong”.

“One of the project’s areas is aimed at supporting Ukrainian soldiers who were injured in the war and lost their hearing. Together with the NGO ” Vidchui”, we are working to ensure that they receive hearing aids as soon as possible,” explained Daria Sydorenko.

In addition, the project includes 3 more areas that will also be implemented jointly with NGOs that are members of the union: “Bachyty Sertsem”, “Active Rehabilitation Group” and “Family for People with Disabilities”.

“The project will support families raising children with complex developmental disabilities. In addition, uninterruptible power supply sets will be purchased for people with spinal cord injuries. A center for social rehabilitation and social and labor adaptation of people with disabilities in Kyiv will also be equipped,” said Daria Sydorenko.

The project will be implemented with the financial support of the European partner, the Catalan Development Cooperation Fund. This is a non-profit organization consisting of city councils and other local governments. The Fund allocates part of its budget to finance activities for development cooperation and international solidarity.

“The League of the Strong” is a public union that was formed at the end of 2021. The main task is to unite public organizations and activate people with disabilities to participate in the realization of their rights.
