The public union “The League of the Strong” announces a call for applications for accessibility training for representatives of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Odesa and Mykolaiv territorial communities. NGOs, active citizens, urbanists, architects, students of architecture and related specialties are invited to participate in the trainings. This was reported by Olha Hvozdyk, head of the advocacy department of “The League of the Strong” public union.

“Accessibility is the basis for creating an inclusive society where every citizen feels equal and valuable. Our trainings provide an opportunity to gain knowledge and practical skills to implement barrier-free solutions in their communities,” says Olga Hvozdyk, Head of Advocacy at “The League of the Strong” NGO.

The training is free of charge. Registration is required and will last until July 1, 2024. The course will take place from July 5 to July 27, 2024.

Trainings will be held once a week on the Zoom platform. The training will include online modules that will study accessibility issues and consider best practices for creating barrier-free spaces in communities.

Practical classes will be held offline – at the real facilities of the course participants.

The trainings are open to non-governmental organizations regardless of their field of activity, citizens, urbanists, architects, students of architecture and related specialties.

This training will be held for the territorial communities of Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Ternopil, Mykolaiv, and Odesa, including the villages, towns, and cities that belong to them.

This course is a project of the Center for the Protection of the Rights of People with Disabilities, implemented with the support of UNDP as part of the Support to Civil Society and Youth project.
