Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, almost 19,000 people with disabilities affected by Russian aggression have received assistance under the international project of the European Disabilities Forum (EDF). This was announced by Daria Sydorenko, Executive Director of the League of the Strong NGO.

“Together with our 11 partner organisations, we continue to help people with disabilities. Every month we close more than 1000 requests. In total, almost 19,000 Ukrainians have contacted us since the project’s inception—the largest number of requests concerned information assistance – 9,720 requests. Three thousand two hundred thirty people received humanitarian aid. One thousand eight hundred thirty people sought psychological help, and 833 sought legal advice,” said Daria Sydorenko, Executive Director of the League of the Strong NGO.

A report was released by Catherine Knighton, Executive Director of the European Disability Forum, who visited Ukraine in March 2023. She noted that people with disabilities in Ukraine need more support.
