354 Individuals Receive Assistive Devices from the League of the Strong Under the Empower Ukraine. Disability Rights Project

The League of the Strong NGO has continued to support individuals with disabilities, as well as veterans, the elderly, and internally displaced persons, by providing essential assistive devices through the Empower Ukraine. Disability Rights project. Over the past eight months, 354 beneficiaries in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Cherkasy regions have received 651 assistive devices, according to David Davtian, the project manager of the League of the Strong.

“Assistive devices significantly improve the daily lives of certain groups of people. That’s why we continue our work in this direction, helping people with disabilities, including those with severe or rare diseases, the elderly, veterans, and internally displaced persons. Providing such support is also crucial for the social integration and independent living of these individuals. We are confident that our efforts contribute to creating a more inclusive society where everyone can reach their full potential,” said David Davtyan, project manager at the League of the Strong.

Residents of Cherkasy region received the most assistance. High-demand items included mobility aids such as crutches and canes, as well as devices for measuring blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Additionally, there was a significant need for orthopedic insoles.

The Empower Ukraine. Disability Rights project operates in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Cherkasy regions.

The assistance is provided within the framework of the Empower Ukraine project, established with the financial support of the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), CBM, and the European Disability Forum.
