“The League of the Strong” has provided more than 800 assistive devices as part of the project “Empower Ukraine. Disability rights”

The public union “League of the Strong” continues to implement the project “Empower Ukraine. Rights of the Disabled” project in three regions of Ukraine. There, the organization supports people with disabilities, as well as veterans, the elderly and internally displaced persons, providing them with the necessary assistive devices, transportation services and financial assistance. Over the past 9 months, 464 beneficiaries from the Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Cherkasy regions have received more than 800 units of assistive devices. This was announced by David Davtyan, project manager of the League of the Strong.

“Every person with a disability in Ukraine should have access to the necessary tools and services that can make their lives easier. This is what we are actively working towards through this project. It is especially important that our support covers different groups of people, including veterans and internally displaced persons during the war,” said David Davtyan, Project Manager of the League of the Strong.

Equipment provided under the project includes mobility aids, including crutches and canes, blood pressure and blood sugar monitors, and orthopedic insoles.

The organization has also recently begun distributing wheelchairs to those in need. The project has provided such assistance to 12 people.

It should be added that the assistance is provided within the framework of the Empower Ukraine project, which was created with the financial support of the German Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt), CBM and the European Forum for People with Disabilities.
