NGOs in Cherkasy invited to training on disability inclusion in humanitarian aid

The League of the Strong public union invites representatives of NGOs in Cherkasy to a training on “Raising awareness of the public sector on the inclusion of persons with disabilities in humanitarian aid.” It will be conducted by Liudmyla Protsenko, a psychologist and regional coordinator of public relations for the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in the Cherkasy region. This was announced by David Davtian, project manager of the League of the Strong.

“This training aims not only to raise participants’ awareness of disability inclusion but also to equip them with practical skills for responding to emergencies. We strive to provide each participant with the tools to implement inclusive approaches in their work, particularly in the humanitarian aid sector,” said project manager David Davtian.

The event will take place on September 26th at 11:00 AM in Cherkasy. Registered participants will receive details and the location separately.

During the training, participants will discuss specific approaches for interacting with individuals with disabilities based on their particular impairments. They will also learn how to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities during evacuations. Following the theoretical portion, organizers invite participants for an informal discussion on the importance of involving people with disabilities in the planning and implementation of humanitarian programs.

Participation in the training is free of charge. To register, please fill out the registration form at the provided link.

The event is taking place as part of the Empower Ukraine project, made possible with financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), CBM, and the European Disability Forum.
