In Ukraine, the Centre of Inclusion Expertise has started its operations. This was announced today during the event at the informational agency “Ukrinform” by the Executive Director of Public Association “The League of the Strong” Daria Sydorenko.
“Currently, the processes of recovery are both being planned and actually started being implemented. However, oftentimes, authorities and self-government bodies are not interested in the processes of including the needs of persons with disabilities in the process of reconstruction. Apart from that, they do not understand what actual reconstruction implies and as a response to such a great issue, we made a decision to establish the Centre for Inclusion Expertise. It is going to be a single platform that unites civil society organisations, experts on inclusiveness, accessibility as well as authorities which will contact the Centre”, – said the Executive Director of the Public Association “The League of the Strong” Daria Sydorenko.
The Centre’s activities are aimed at including the interests of persons with disabilities in Ukraine’s recovery programmes. The services of the Centre include expert consultations for stakeholders of the recovery processes, advocacy of the issues of including the standards of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities into the plan of recovery of Ukraine.
Daria Sydorenko informed that it is possible to contact the Centre starting today: inclusion_centre@ls.org.ua
