25 Kyiv museum heads receive accessibility training from The League of the Strong experts

Experts from the public union The League of the Strong conducted training sessions on “Culture Without Barriers” for museum managers in Kyiv. The training, held in cooperation with the Kyiv City State Administration, focused on enhancing the accessibility of museum spaces in the capital. This initiative was reported by Olha Hvozdyk, head of the advocacy department at The League of the Strong.

“Culture and art are integral components of a harmonious life for any person, which is why their accessibility is so important. During the training, we taught museum representatives to understand the needs of people with disabilities. This understanding helps them make the necessary decisions to ensure Kyiv’s museums are accessible and comfortable for both residents and visitors,” emphasized Olha Hvozdyk.

Participants addressed the issue of ensuring the external accessibility of museums and cultural institutions, and they learned about best practices in creating accessible architectural monuments from around the world. The experts also provided examples of possible solutions for implementing barrier-free access to these heritage sites.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that 150 employees of the Kyiv City State Administration and municipal institutions have taken the League of the Strong’s barrier-free course.
