The public association “League of the Strong” invites representatives of Cherkasy public organizations to a training titled “Barrier-free Humanitarian Initiatives: How to Involve People with Disabilities?” The training will be conducted by psychologist and regional coordinator for public interaction of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights in the Cherkasy region, Liudmyla Protsenko.
“An inclusive approach to decision-making is a vital component of the humanitarian sphere, especially in modern times when the needs of every member of society must be considered. This training is not just about theory but offers practical tools for NGOs in Cherkasy to effectively work with people with disabilities,” emphasizes David Davtian, project manager of the “League of the Strong.”
The event will take place on November 5 at 11:00 in Cherkasy.
During the training, participants will learn what an inclusive approach to decision-making entails and why it is essential. They will also explore a step-by-step algorithm for responding to crisis situations.
The practical segment of the training will help participants develop their own vision for involving people with disabilities in decision-making processes and understanding their impact. Following the theoretical session, organizers invite attendees to join an informal discussion.
Participation in the training is free of charge. To attend, interested individuals must complete the registration form via the provided link.
The event is part of the *Empower Ukraine* project, created with financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), CBM, and the European Disability Forum.
