628 educators from across Ukraine will learn about inclusive interaction and the early identification of signs of disability during a free online course of the same name, organized by “The League of the Strong” Public Association. Preschool teachers, teaching assistants, methodologists from preschool education institutions, and other specialists from various regions of Ukraine have registered for the course.
The course will run through the end of June and consists of six online lectures. The course is designed for teachers, teaching assistants, curriculum specialists at preschool institutions, and anyone interested in issues of inclusion. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive certificates.
The goal of the course is to enhance educators’ professional competence in the early identification of behavioral and developmental signs that may indicate a disability or special educational needs in preschool-aged children. The course also helps participants develop skills in ethical communication with parents, collaboration within an inclusive team, and creating a safe and welcoming environment for all children.
The program covers topics such as the early identification of behavioral characteristics, responding to behavioral challenges without harming the child, creating an inclusive environment, using appropriate terminology, communicating effectively with children with disabilities, and collaborating with parents and specialists.
The course was developed and taught by special education teachers Olesya Yaskevich and Natalia Gladkikh — experts in the fields of inclusive education, psychological support, and guidance for children with disabilities.
The course is part of “The League of the Strong” educational initiatives, which aim to promote inclusive education and enhance the professional competence of educators working with preschool-aged children. This is the third cohort of participants in the project and the fourth within the organization as a whole. Approximately 90 educators participate in each session of this cohort.
